Vlychadia Beach
Two calm coves next to the sea-treasures museum
Vlychadia is a protected southern bay with two small beaches, tavernas and the Sea World Museum next door: a sponge-diver's lifetime of finds from the seabed. Good combination of a swim and a story.

|---|---|
| Sunbeds | Some in season, check locally |
| Food and drink | Tavernas by the bay |
| Getting there | Short drive south-west of Pothia |
| Good for | Calm-water swimming, museum visit, divers |
The Valsamidis family built the museum from what they brought up over decades of diving: amphorae, wrecks, shells, sponges. Do the museum first, then swim.
The protected bay is also a base for scuba diving. Ask locally about dive centre availability in season.
